I`ve regularly driven about 100 miles to the tank with my 2017 KTM 300 XCW (carburetor) and I have a driving buddy who gets 120 miles per tank on his 2018 KTM 300 XCW. I expect my 2021 TPI 300 to improve, the merchant is asking for it and it makes sense, but I haven`t had it long enough to know for sure. From your description, I think, IMHO, etc., that the 300 would be a better match. The 250 spins better, and I think the 250 and 300 have the same peak power, but the 300 has lower end. It is therefore ideal for tight, technical and uncomfortable sound trails. I wouldn`t call a 300 XCW a double sport. It`s an off-road motorcycle. It can be approved for the road. The mine is eligible, registered, plated and insured, but does not have the necessary equipment for a PA safety inspection. I drive it on short stretches of road. I drove him about 25 miles down the tarmac in the Hatfield-McCoy systems. But I don`t think it`s a very suitable bike for the road. This is probably the best bike for PA single track.
